Philosophy/Approach to Supervision

My over-arching goal and structure as a supervisor is to empower learning therapists to know thyself, trust thyself, and use thyself in working with their clients.

This means supervision is more about growing up as a therapist rather than a focus on case consultation, intervention ideas, and problem-solving. Clients are viewed as a therapist’s mentor, not as a problem to be solved.

Influences driving my supervision style are Fred Rogers, Internal Family Systems (IFS), Brené Brown’s research on vulnerability and courage, and the enneagram personality system.

If you are a therapist looking for cognitive modality focus or tools for your toolbox type supervision, I am not the supervisor for you.

"Christie is a wonderful supervisor and clinician who notices and honors our shared humanity. She exudes a warmth into the therapeutic space that gives you permission to show up as you are and nurtures genuine, comforting, and courageous connections."
